It’s the Weekend Again

Happy Saturday fellow blogians. Blogites. Bloggers. Uh, you know what I mean.

I watched The Hitcher last night. I have to tell ya, I totally expected it to be much worse. Now, I’m not saying it wasn’t kinda bad, but it wasn’t as bad as many other movies I’ve seen in the past months. Plus I can’t help but compare it to the original, which I thought was much better.

I know. I’m the worst “critic” ever. There’s a very specific formula to these things. I’m supposed to open with some witty–and cutting–remark, go into a short summary of the film, and then list the reasons it sucked.

What can I say? I personally think most critics and reviewers have their heads lodged firmly up their own asses, and I would rather not join their ranks. Instead, I suggest you see the movie and form your own opinion. Yeah, you might think it’s shit.

Ya live ya learn.

Let’s see. Oh, right. Novel news. Well, the count is still on the top of the page for those who care. I’ve been averaging 2,000 words a day, but would really like to have a first draft (50,000 words) by the end of the month, which means speeding up the works. Maybe some speed metal will help.

Okay, enough of that. No other writing news. No other news at all.

So.

Bye now.

  1. I haven’t seen the newer version yet. Most of the time, when it comes to horror, the remakes aren’t as good as the original. But as long as people spend money to see them, they will keep making them.

  2. Very true, Andrea. Have you heard they are making I am Legend again? This time using the actual title, but the plot seems altered, once again.

  3. The novel seems to be coming along well, Tony. I’ve noticed that a lot of people seem to stick at around 15000 words. You are well past that now.

I finished a first draughting of a novel a month or two back and I was so fed up of it by the time I finished that I have had to put it asside completely before I can start the next draught. I plan on waiting a long time before I do it too. I hope you don’t feel that way when you finish your first draught.

  4. Actually, my last novel stalled out around 15,000 words too. weird.

I hope you decide to get back to the novel soon. I’m going to try and work straight through, but who knows.
