Blog Tour Day 4: Monday Madness

Posted on: September 10th, 2012 by Anthony Rapino

Happy Monday, good people of the interweb.  You may be asking yourselves, “Dear me.   Monday Madness?  What makes this Monday so mad?”

Well, I’ll tell you.  Because I kicked him in the nuts.  I did it for no other reason than it being Monday, and perhaps to punish it for inspiring all those damnable Garfield posters.  But there I go again creating fictionalized events in which I brutalize a day of the week.  Moving on…

For day four of the epic, scandalous, half-naked blog tour, I have a guest post about auras on Rebecca Treadway’s  website.  Go on and hit the link even if you don’t want to read my post, because the fourth game piece also awaits you!  If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go here and read up on how to win one of the many prizes.

Here’s a taste of “Behind the Aura:”

Theological and philosophical ponderings certainly aren’t anything new in genre fiction.  In fact, I’d argue that religion and philosophy can go hand in hand with horror.  It may not have a place in all horror novels, but when you consider the purpose of horror–to evoke feelings of unease and dread–it makes a lot of sense that religion would play a role, however small.  Religion in part is meant to ease our worries of what comes after death.  When those ideas are turned around, questioned, and explored in darker ways, it can certainly cause an overwhelming sense of dread.

Oh my, don’t I sound so serious?  Creepy.
