My First Trip in Months

When this newsletter goes out, I’ll be smack-dab in the middle of this year’s RetroCon, a convention that celebrates all things nostalgic. For those who are new here, the reason for my attendance may need a brief explanation.

Yes, I am primarily a horror writer with a deep love for Halloween, and most of what I produce (stories, novels, sculptures, art, etc.) relate back to those interests. However, I also have an appreciation for, let’s call it, “retro entertainment.”

My YouTube channel, for instance, mostly contains videos of old stuff that I buy at yard sales. I have vast collections of video games, action figures, and areas of crossover like vintage Halloween items. This eventually led to the novel Tommy and the Order of Cosmic Champions, which I wrote based on a story idea by Anthony Grate, who runs RetroDaze.

Later, Tony G. invited me to write the scripts for Celebrating Yesteryear, which airs weekly on the RetroDaze YouTube Channel.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, that’s why I go to RetroCon. I meet up with Tony G. and Jon (who hosts the show), and we have a fun weekend that often also leads to a few video ideas.
