Submission #8
Posted on: June 30th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino

Yes, another one. Been busy these few days. Sure, I should be busy writing, but I can’t concentrate until I know my babies are out looking for new homes. Anywho, I sent “Enduring at the Edge of the Storm” back out, this time to Son and Foe, a professionally paying mag (5 cents/word). This story, […]

Submission #7–The Procrastination Blues
Posted on: June 30th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 3 Comments

Sub 7 went out at midnight today to Horrors Beyond II, an anthology through ESP, publisher of Dark Wisdom. Today is also their deadline, so I got in in just in time. I had been waiting, trying to get a piece together that fit the theme, and had a high enough word count. I actually […]

Submissions #5 and #6
Posted on: June 29th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 2 Comments

Both 5 and 6 went to Pedestal Magazine, which just reopened to submissions. They are only taking flash fiction (1000 words or less), and take no more than 3 at a time. Since I had two flash pieces just waiting to go, I sent ’em out. One is “Memories,” and the other is “Breaking Out.” […]

One of the best pats about taking part in Jason Evan’s contests, at The Clarity of Night, is that you get to meet a whole bunch of other writers, read their stuff, and find their blogs. As comments start to come in about all the works, I am finding new blogs that I enjoy. This […]

Rejection #5
Posted on: June 25th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 2 Comments

Ideomancer rejected my short story entitled, “Enduring at the Edge of the Storm.” They didn’t have anything good to say about it. It was “too traditional” for their mag and “took too long getting into the story.” Oh well. On to the next one. -oni

Submission #4
Posted on: June 21st, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 2 Comments

I sent an offering to the Surreal Botany Field Guide. Admittedly, I should have taken more time to revise the submission, but I decided to send it out right away. I may have signed my death warrant with that one.

Submissions #2 and #3
Posted on: June 21st, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 2 Comments

Taking only a few hours to mourn my latest batch of rejections letters, I resubmitted, “Enduring at the Edge of the Storm,” to Ideomancer, and sent “Drugged: A Character Study in Six Parts,” to City Slab. This will be the first submission for “Drugged” and the third for “Enduring.” This is also the third submission […]

Rejection #4

30 day rejection from Fantasy Magazine for my short, “Enduring at the Edge of the Storm.”

Rejection #3: The Dry Spell Continues
Posted on: June 20th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 2 Comments

8 day rejection from Ideomancer. I found this rejection in my spam folder tonight, which makes me worry: how many responses have I lost? Very short comment on this one. They liked what I did with it, but was still passing on it. Oh well. ——————————————– I polished up a short and is ready for […]
