New Site and Submission #1

I am very excited to announce that construction of a new website is officially underway. My brother, (who works with graphics, video, and music), is working hard on the site. He showed me the “enter” page he created, along with the main page and extra graphics–it looks amazing.

He also let me hear some ambient music he put together for it. I can’t wait to see how it all pulls together.

Based on the speed he has been working (all the above in two days), I wouldn’t be surprised to have a page up by the end of the month. I Will update progress here, as always.

No new writing news as of yet. Submission #1 (which of course is far from my first submission, but I wanted to start keeping track) was a flash piece called, “Memories,” that I sent to Ideomancer.

Last I saw, there response time was around 7 days, so I should hear back soon.

One other note. I have officially changed my profile to read, “Author of Dark Literature” instead of “Horror.”

No, Dark Literature is not a euphemism for Horror. I will have a separate post in coming days explaining my choice to change headings.

Awesome, I can’t wait to see the new site.

I’ve been considering using the words dark fiction to describe what I write instead of horror, because I’m currently writing dark stories that wouldn’t be considered horror, namely my dark fantasy novel.

Thanks Benjamin. I have been wanting to set up a “real” site for a while, but I kept putting it off. If it wasn’t for my brother starting it up, I never would have.

I’ve always been on the borders of things, so it’s no surprise that I feel my writing doesn’t conform to the genre term horror.

More on the Dark Lit thing soon.
