Hints of Autumn
I know it’s not autumn yet, and that the first official day of my favorite season isn’t until Tuesday, September 22 (at 8:05 p.m. EDT if you track such things). Still, it’s hard to argue that for many of us, things are already beginning to feel autumnal.
If not the weather, other indicators have emerged.
The most prominent is the shift from summer products to back-to-school items in most stores. Then the further change-over to (still in August, mind you), Halloween products, which have flooded shelves.
It’s hard for me to feel “the spirit” when it’s 80 degrees outside and all the leaves are still green, but I am getting excited. Even if I’m not buying anything just yet, seeing Halloween take over stores is glorious.
Everything will be black and orange soon enough.
Besides, the hot weather can’t stop me from enjoying a pumpkin-shaped pizza and watching Halloween 3.
How are you getting ready for the approaching autumn?
