Halloween Radio 2011

Someone pointed out to me that I have been–quite unintentionally–posting every day of October so far.  You might say, “Big deal, it has only been five days,” to which I might respond, “Shut up!” and stomp off to my sad chair.

I’m not going to promise I will post every single day of October (like good ol’ Benjamin Kane Ethridge, who has that novel I told you to read, Black and Orange.)  But I will give it the old college try.  Which is to say I’ll do about half of it and then get drunk.

I couldn’t let too much of October slip by without cataloging this year’s best Halloween radio stations, as I do every year.  Once again, Neverending Wonder, headed by the Insane Uncle Ozma, is at the very top of my list.  One of the reasons this site always makes the top is because there are not one, not two, but three stations to choose from.  There’s the main station: NeverEndingWonder Halloween Radio.  My favorite is quite possibly Welcome to Weirdsville: The Silly Side of Halloween.  And finally, Halloween on Broadway, which I have to admit to not listening to.  Be sure to explore the site for other goodies as well, including, but not limited to, the elf in a jar.

Another good choice in the Halloween radio game is http://www.halloweenradio.net/.  They also have a few stations to choose from (atmosphere, oldies, kids) and a link where you can request songs.

This site lists top Halloween radio stations being listed to (including those previously mentioned): http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Halloween

Finally there is http://www.halloweenradio.com/.  It’s a pretty basic site, but they do take requests.

There *are* others out there, but I chose to feature the ones above.  For instance, there’s another station that looked good, but upon entering the site I got pop up ads and the music started automatically.  I didn’t like that.

Lined up for the rest of this month, I have a slaughterhouse full of ideas: A Halloween giveaway, Halloween/horror movie marathon spotlights, horror movie reviews, pumpkin ale tasting notes and pictures, a Halloween themed “Ask the Professor,” A Halloween themed, “Sunshine Says,” link of the day, and much more!

  1. Heh…won’t say I told you so…

I wouldn’t expect anything less during this month from you. After all, this is what you live for all year. ;P

  2. I dearly want to decorate your sad chair with paper hearts and cardboard stars. Then it will be a sad, girlie chair, which might only make you sadder. Then my work would be done. >:)
