Rejection.

Surreal magazine has gotten back to me, and unfortunately, it is not good news. I really had high hopes for this one, but like my other submissions to Surreal in the past, this one was ultimately rejected.

The rejection had to be the best I have ever received, calling my story professionally written and held under consideration for months. In the end he said the decision was simply subjective because my story had been up against the “cream of the crop” due to large amounts of submissions. He invited me to submit again once hey were open. He also encouraged me to try to get this one placed somewhere else.

So. Let me just get this out…

Okay. I’m better now.

I’m just going to go submit this one again.

  1. I can imagine what that must have felt like, Anthony. But look at the positives; the rejection is honest and encouraging, not a sugar-coated form rejection. I am glad you are submitting the story elsewhere. It will find a home soon 🙂

Thanks Sury and Benjamin. Yup, looking foward is the only way.

Hey, Benjamin, I’m working on polishing a flash peice for the Tastes of the Darkness. I’ll post it when it’s done.
