A Good Week

Right on the heels of my recent hold notice at Withersin, I have just received an acceptance letter for my piece, “Retired.” The story will appear in the October issue of MagusZine.

I don’t want to jump the gun with this announcement because things might still change. In this business, I have learned that until the contract has been signed and the money is in hand, nothing is final.

With that said, I am allowing myself to smile and have a celebratory beer, which I will pour into a glass that shall be perceived as half full. For this night, I am an optimist.

Cheers!

*NOTE: Being from Pennsylvania, I drink Yuengling. But, you know, I’m too lazy to take a picture myself.

I’m a light weight, all I have to do is sniff the fumes from an open bottle of anything and I’m on my way to a hangover.

God, you just wired me weird.

But for you Tony I’ll take a whiff of a wine cooler- cheers.

  2. YAY!!!!

For your accomplishment I wouldn’t care how many exclamation marks I use. That’s wonderful news. Do let us know when the story is out.

*Hands a bunch of clovers to Oni.*

All I can say is practice makes perfect. Honestly though, I’m not much of a drinker either. I like an occasional beer–very occasional.

    Sury:
Thank you! Exclamations are allowed for this 🙂

It’s slated for October 1st, but I will definitely keep you all informed.

  4. Congrats!!! I don’t drink. So, can’t have a beer with you, but I hope you enjoyed yours.

  5. That’s great. Congratulations. Magus is a new market, but it looks pretty good to me.

  6. Andrea:
Sure did. But in hindsight, I should have had a celebratory sundae instead.

    Clyde:
Thanks. This effectively ends my 1 year 5 month dry spell. So I’m pretty happy.

    Steve:
Yes, a very new market. The editor is part of HWA too, so I was comfortable submitting. Have you read the first issue?

  7. It’s true that it ain’t over ’til it’s over – I hope that your story makes it to print. Cheers! (Yuengling in hand)

  8. Thanks Jade. It’s looking pretty good. I’ll have some minor editing to do in September and then October in print.

Thanks, Erin! I’m adding you to the links. Oh yeah.
