Bite-Sized Horror Movie Review: Lo

Like many others, I went into this movie expecting something of a B-horror screamer. Instead, what I found was a comedic, theatrical play (with sets, lighting, and all) about love. Yes, there are demons. And the demons do have their moments of creepiness (I wouldn’t necessarily say any of it is scary though). Mostly they’re funny, especially Lo, who is the standout in this film. I was *loving* the first thirty minutes or so, ready to give it five stars. But the pacing trips up a little and drags just enough that I got a little bored and subsequently decided to drop one star. But the ending is really good and unexpected, and overall the film delivers. A great romantic comedy with dark edges.

I give this film 4 flaming jack-o-lanterns out of 5.

  1. Demons and love. Maybe they’re the new vampires?? =) I should shut up, um, ’cause it sounds like my story. **I’ll go hide in shame now.** LOL.

  2. I went and checked out the movie trailer for this movie, it looked kind of cool. Sad to say though I don’t see any versions with CC or subtitles. I’ll keep my eye out just in case. Thanks for the heads up. (Hugs)Indy

    1. Sorry to hear that. i sort of thought all dvd’s these days have subtitle options. I tend to use subtitles a lot, just for the sake of not missing anything. The only time I’ve encountered movies without subtitles these days is when I’m streaming off the net.
