11 Days to Halloween

For today’s Halloween offering, I have two web pages that are sure to help coordinate the 11 remaining days.

The first page, The Pumpkin Nook, has more information about pumpkins than my closet has skeletons. Go to this page for instructions on how to puree your own pumpkin and use that puree to make pies, cookies, muffins, and breads.

The second page, Halloween TV, has a schedule of Halloween TV shows airing this year. It doesn’t seem to be comprehensive, but it does make matters easier when trying to choose sppoky tv to get you in the mood.

As for me? Well, I have three sugar pumpkins that I want to turn into puree. I’ll freeze most of it for thanksgiving pies, but I might use a bit today for some cookies. I made come caramel apples the other day, but I might make some more. And maybe peanut brittle. Not really Halloween inspired…unless I make pumpkin seed brittle…by George!

And would you look at this!

Happy October.

  1. Absolute Vanilla (and Atyllah)

I’ll be getting nervous when that pumpkin starts to sprout little legs and a mouth which grins menacingly! Is that what you’d call a genetically modified pumpkin? 😉

  2. I like these cartoons you are posting. I had forgotten all about The Great Pumpkin. I remember watching a Charlie Brown with that in when I was a kid.

  3. Keep an eye out. They usually put the great pumpkin on TV some time in October.

Being the big Halloween dork that I am, I have it on tape. 🙂
