Tastes of the Darkness Submission: "The Pot"

This is my contribution to the new site, Tastes of the Darkness (see sidebar link). —————————————————– The Pot By Anthony J. Rapino The silver cover jostles nervously as steam escapes the pot; sharp overhead lights glint and Samantha watches. Her left hand grips a stained potholder. In the distorted reflection on the pot, she sees […]

Well, thanks to my $1 donation to Son and Foe I received an extra speedy rejection. I asked for it. Any way, it was a pretty good rejection as far as rejections go. I decided (for the first time ever on this site) to reproduce my rejection word for word. I Usually wouldn’t do this […]

Submissions and News

I resubmitted my story “Enduring at the Edge of the Storm,” to Fantasy Magazine. I sent it in a day or two ago, and hope to hear back from them within a month. Son and Foe, who has my story “Drugged,” has just started a program for writers who submit to their magazine. By donating […]

Rejection.
Posted on: May 20th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino 4 Comments

Surreal magazine has gotten back to me, and unfortunately, it is not good news. I really had high hopes for this one, but like my other submissions to Surreal in the past, this one was ultimately rejected. The rejection had to be the best I have ever received, calling my story professionally written and held […]

Tentative Good News

After waiting three months, I decided to query a submission I have with Surreal Magazine. Not that 3 months is all that long a time, rather–I have ants in my pants. I received a response this morning. I will reproduce the letter in full: Hi, Anthony. Yes, we do have your story, and it’s currently […]

I usually like to post when I add any new links. If you refer to my previous post “Another rejection” and go to the comment box, you will see a response from one, Benjamin Solah. I went to check his blog out, and it has lots of cool info and features. It links back to […]

Son and Foe

A day or two ago I resubmitted my story “Drugged” to the magazine Son and Foe. They are a professionally paying mag, though most of their content seems to be online as well as print format. I like the look of this magazine and hope they like the look of my story. My classes for […]

One Day Rejection
Posted on: May 10th, 2006 by Anthony Rapino

I tried my story, “Drugged” out at Chizine, but it was quickly rejected. The editor gave me good feedback, saying he liked it but thought it was too short. Fair enough. I’ll have to try this one someplace else.
