Clean House, Stranger than Fiction, and Rejections
Posted on: February 28th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 2 Comments

I started cleaning house today. And by house I mean the blog. I went through with a sharpened machete and slashed away at dead links. Now, it’s possible I nicked a link that I shouldn’t have, so if you notice yours has gone kaput, just tell me and I’ll bandage it up as best I […]

I am Legend
Posted on: February 27th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 4 Comments

Why not start out with a classic? Not to overstate this or anything, but Richard Matheson’s I am Legend is a masterpiece, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find someone who disagrees. Though short (170 pages) compared to today’s standards, this novel has more life in it than many contemporary novels breaking 500 pages. What I […]

The Reading Room
Posted on: February 27th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 5 Comments

Yesterday, I created a new blog that I planned on using as a book-review site. I changed my mind. Instead, I decided to simply post the book reviews here, where I already have a few readers. I will still post about writing here, but I want to branch out a bit and add some new […]

No more Numbers
Posted on: February 25th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 3 Comments

I’m tired of numbering rejections, so I’m not going to anymore. I received a 15 day rejection from Heliotrope Magazine for my story “State of the Union.” I immediately sent it back out to GUD. They have very quick turn around for rejections (not so quick if you’re accepted). Cheers

Still a Writing Blog
Posted on: February 17th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 6 Comments

With all the recent posts about bread, I thought I should explain. Those who have read my interview (see side-bar) know that I closely relate many things with writing. One of those things is cooking. Certain things can inspire me to write, and a lot of those things have to do with my environment and […]

Snow Day Bread
Posted on: February 16th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino

It was really a last minute thing. I had spent the past two days (both snow days for me since my college closed down–no work, no class) shoveling snow, doing homework, reading, and watching movies. Well, I know I should have written something–anything–but that wasn’t happening. I won’t go into details, it just wasn’t. So, […]

English Muffin Recipe
Posted on: February 12th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino

Hey. I figured I’d just post the link to the recipe I mentioned below. I should probably start doing this whenever I post pictures of food, but since it isn’t my recipe and I didn’t alter it, I didn’t want to pass it off as my own. So, Kate, and anyone else interested, here’s the […]

Rejections and Bread
Posted on: February 11th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 3 Comments

It seems that all of my recent posts have been about rejections and bread. Guess what. This one is no different. So, I had a couple of rejections. One was from Raven Electrick for an old piece that I thought I would try sending out again. I think there were other rejections, but I can’t […]

Rejection #21
Posted on: February 4th, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 5 Comments

Okay, so the whole “bad things come in threes” didn’t really work for me this time, since I just received the fourth rejection in a row. But that’s okay. Really. I received a 26 day rejection from Chizine http://www.chizine.com/ for my 100 word drabble, “Lost Little Girl.” The reason it is okay is because it […]

Rejection #20
Posted on: February 3rd, 2007 by Anthony Rapino 4 Comments

I received a 1 day rejection from Raven Electrick http://ravenelectrick.com/ for a flash fiction piece. She suggested sending another one in, so I did. Hopefully it will have better luck. So, I guess that’s my three. Does that mean I get a sale now? Here’s hoping. So, I broke in my new camera today while […]
